Interplay
A joint exhibition with Rita Daly
My work is a combination of exploring perceptions of atmospheric spaces and escapism from the daily bombardment of the prescriptive negative images into an imaginary world that I create through my paint. The abstracted images are devices to mobilize the mind from a staid reality into the unknown.
Guided by the formal qualities of painting - line, shape, colour and form - the original idea for the painting succumbs to the process and the interplay reforms the image, creating a new reality and a great escape.
